Each Sunday morning we get a glimpse of God
and where we are in our relationship with Him and the people He
loves. But there are so many unanswered questions, the kind of
questions that continue Sunday after Sunday and drive us to find
the answers to life’s ambiguities.
¨
Is it possible to truly live the
way the bible says I’m suppose to live?
¨
How can I deal with all the
messes in my own life?
¨
What can I do to make my family
better?
¨
Is the community that surrounds
me better because of me?
¨
What can I do to help build the kingdom of God?
¨
How can I be sure that I am
aligned with God’s plan for me, my family, my community and the
world?
We can begin to explore these questions
through The Church Training Institute of Houston, or CTI-H.
CTI-H, established through Good Hope Missionary Baptist
Church, is to be our primary tool for
equipping the saints of God from the inside out as we make plans
to serve the Third Ward Community and the
Houston
metropolitan area.
Through CTI-H you will experience personal
growth in your relationship with God while continuing to deal
with daily issues. As you continue your training, you may pursue
a number of different certifications including Biblical
Counseling and Church Leadership. Your training can also lead to
the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree through Faith Seminary.
This fall CTI-H opens by offering the first
in a series of classes on Biblical Counseling. To receive
Certification in Biblical Counseling and become a part of the
counseling ministry, you will need to complete BC-101, BC-201,
BC-301 and BC-401. The first class, BC-101, is Biblical
Counseling 101- Self Counseling.
Scripture says in Luke 6:42(NLT)
“…first get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well
enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.”
This 10 week course will teach students how
to use the Bible to solve problems God’s way.
It will help students identify issues in their life, and
address the issues from a biblical perspective.
Students will be trained in how to counsel self, then
others. After
completion of this course, students will be thoroughly equipped
to use biblical problem solving strategies to address sin, and
implement sound biblical counseling techniques.
BC-101 is also a requirement for CTI-H’s
Leadership Certification.
Registration begins Sunday, July 6, 2008.
The cost of registration including books is $175 for Members of
Good Hope. The non-member cost is $225 until July 31, 2008 and
$275 from August 1 – September 8, 2008.
We pray that you will join us in our
pursuit for excellence. Our entire church family moves from good
to great as we individually make that same move.
