Welcome

The Mission of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church:

We will love God, love people, and serve others in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

THE ESSENTIALS WE BELIEVE

1. ABOUT GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co? equal and are one God.

Genesis ?1:1 26,27;3:22 Psalm 90:2 [show] Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Matthew 28:19 [show] Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (ESV)
; 1 Peter 1:2 [show] according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you. (ESV)
; 11 Corinthians 13:14 [show]ERROR: No passage found for your query.

2. ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father, Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords

Matt. 1:22,23 [show] All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: (ESV) “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). (ESV)
; Isaiah 9:6 [show] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
; Zech. 14:1 [show] Behold, a day is coming for the LORD, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. (ESV)
?11, 20?21; John 1:1 [show] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (ESV)
?5, 14: 10?30; Hebrews 4:14,15 [show] Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. (ESV) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. (ESV)
; I Corinthians 15:3,4 [show] For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, (ESV) that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, (ESV)
; Romans 1:3,4 [show] concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh (ESV) and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, (ESV)
; Acts 1:9 [show] And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. (ESV)
?1 1; 1 Timothy 6 [show] Let all who are under a yoke as slaves regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled. Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things. If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will display at the proper time–he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen. As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. Grace be with you. (ESV)
: 14,15; Titus 2:13 [show] waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, (ESV)
; Rev. 19:11 [show] Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. (ESV)
