CONGRATULATIONS!

You’ve made the greatest decision of your life.

Now that you have made a decision to make Jesus Christ your Savior and Lord, we want to encourage you to do 5 things to help you walk the Christian life in a successful way. We would also like to hear about your decision!  Please complete the form below, so we can rejoice with you, pray for you, and encourage you in this decision. One of our staff members will reach out to you within 24-hours.

1.) First, YOU NEED TO BECOME FAITHFULLY INVOLVED IN A CHURCH.

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT2) – Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

We are challenged to rethink what it means to assemble ourselves  and meet together, and we believe meeting virtually provides a great opportunity to expand those you can meet and fellowship with.

Becoming faithfully involved in a church is much more than just attending church by coming to a building. It involves being church, activating your faith and living that faith every day. We offer you the opportunity to make Good Hope your church family no matter where you are, so we can help you grow and fulfill your potential in Jesus Christ until you can find a local church to join.

2.) Second, YOU NEED TO STUDY THE BIBLE EVERYDAY.

2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV) – Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

You need to spend time in the Bible every day. Start off reading for a short period of time or with a small portion of Scripture and work your way up from there. Just be consistent in reading the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

3.) Third, YOU NEED TO PRAY EVERYDAY.

The New Century Version of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 reads Pray continually.

  • You are to always pray.
  • Prayer to the Christian like breathing is to the human body. You have to breathe to live physically and you need to pray in order to live your best life spiritually.
  • Prayer is not only making a request to God, but it includes also listening to God through meditation so you ultimately become more like God.

4.) Fourth, YOU NEED TO SHARE YOUR FAITH WITH OTHERS.

People need to hear the Good News that Jesus can save them no matter who they are or what they’ve done, and you need to share that good news with everyone you know who needs God in their life.

Mark 16:15 (ESV) – And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

As a member of the family of God you now have the responsibility to share with others that the Good News of salvation is available to all. Make sure you tell others about what God has done in your life. You will tell others by your words and you will tell others by the change in how you live.

Matthew 10:7 (NRSV) – As you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’

5.) Fifth, YOU NEED TO SERVE OTHERS IN HIS NAME.

We can say we have faith, but as Christ-followers the true evidence that we have faith is evidenced by what we do, not simply what we say. We are challenged to be salt and light in the world, to make the world a better place by using the abilities, gifts, skills and talents God has given us to serve others. When you serve others in the name of The LORD you’re being your best and you’re helping others to be their best.

James 2:14-18 (ESV) – What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15  If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16  and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18  But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Philippians 2:12 (NLT2) – Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.

Galatians 5:13 (NLT2) – For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
