The Good Hope Young Adult ministry serves young Adults ages 18-35 through weekly Bible studies, small groups and dynamic community service. We call ourselves THE CITY because we are the next generation that can take our city to the next Christ field level it should be at. Our goal is the same as the churches to Love God, Love all People, and Serve others to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Young Adult ministry provides year round Bible-centered age-specific bible study. The goal of bible study is to make certain that Good Hope young Adults understand the following:
- Grow in the faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ
- How to actively live as a follower of Jesus in this generation
- Be able to apply your faith at work and personal lives
- How to evangelize, live life with one another, and make disciples.
Bible Study meeting times are: Every Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Center for Hope. For details on small groups and the young adults, contact Dennis Campbell [email protected].
The young adult community of Third Ward is in dire need. We are the children of divorce, one-parent families, and latch-key kids. They teach us in school that we came from animals and that we have nothing to look forward to. The HIV rate for people from the ages of 15 to 35 is growing at an exponential rate. Depression in our age group has gone up dramatically. Porn has opened our eyes to a Pandora’s box we can’t close. Sex is so casual you can get it online. We are taught from an early age to “get money.” The culture has said it is okay to live how you want to and there is no price to pay. We are paying the price right now. We need an answer, and we to know and believe that answer to be the Lord Jesus.
We believe we have a responsibility to help young adults realize the answer to the dire circumstances we face is in Jesus Christ. We want to reach young adults in the Third Ward area of Houston (primarily) with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip the ones who have accepted Him as Lord with the wisdom that comes through the Word of God in order to fight the enemy.
